Community Partnerships
Community partnerships are essential in continuing to advance the work of FOMAS within the Louisville Metro area. By working with local businesses and community partners, FOMAS can ensure that its programs continue to grow and evolve to help all those in need. These partnerships not only enhance animal welfare but also foster a sense of shared responsibility, promoting goodwill and civic engagement. Together, we create a more compassionate community where every animal has the chance to thrive.
Spudz/Kroger
In 2024, FOMAS announced a unique collaboration with Spudz Chips and Kroger to benefit Metro Animal Services (MAS). For a promotional period, every bag of Spudz popcorn sold at Kroger stores within our community supported FOMAS initiatives. This partnership represented a significant opportunity to raise essential funds for the care, treatment, and adoption of community animals. Kroger, a long-standing supporter of local initiatives and MAS, generously offered to feature Spudz popcorn prominently in their stores, making it easy for shoppers to participate. The funds raised supported FOMAS programs aimed at increasing adoptions and reducing pet homelessness. This collaboration underscored the power of community and the difference that can be made when people come together! FOMAS, Spudz Chips, and Kroger are united in their goal to create a better future for the community animals of Louisville
WHAS11
The partnership between WHAS11 and Friends of Metro Animal Services has been a powerful force for good in our community. The annual telethon has helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars for projects at Metro Animal Services. Beyond the incredible financial support, WHAS11 has opened its studio doors to spotlight adoptable animals, giving them a platform to be seen all across the area.
Oxmoor/Mall St. Matthews
The collaborative effort of Metro Animal Services, Friends of Metro Animal Services, Oxmoor Center, and Mall St. Matthews has been nothing short of life-changing for the animals and the community alike. Through dozens of adoption events hosted across both malls, hundreds of dogs have found loving homes. Thus, turning everyday shopping trips into meaningful adoption opportunities. By bringing the animals directly to where people gather, this unique
collaboration has removed barriers and inspired countless families to open their hearts to a new furry friend.
Paul's Fruit Market
The donation boxes at Paul’s Fruit Market have made an incredible and lasting impact on the animals at Metro Animal Services. Through the generosity of shoppers, these simple boxes have raised thousands of dollars, enough to purchase Kuranda dog beds for almost every kennel in the shelter. What may seem like small, spare-change donations have added up to something truly transformative!
River City Races
In 2025, FOMAS and River City Races partnered together on the Pupkin Spice 5K! This event is such a joyful celebration bringing people together for a day filled with fun costumes, an energizing 5K race, and a shared love for animals. Because of their partnership, this event creates a meaningful impact to help shelter animals find their furever homes.
Louisville PureTap
The PureTap 5K has become a powerful example of what community partnership can achieve! This race brings together the Louisville Water Company and Louisville Sports Commission in support of both people and pets. It not only encourages families to prioritize their health through movement and wellness, but also creates a meaningful impact for Metro Animal Services by generating critical funding for essential programs.
PLAY Louisville
Play Louisville has been an incredible partner in helping make Drag Me To The Pawty a beloved annual tradition that our community looks forward to each year. By pairing talented local performers with shelter dogs, they’ve created a one-of-a-kind event where compassion meets creativity. Beyond the fun and flair, the event shines a spotlight to remind everyone that love, connection, and companionship can change the world!
