Without volunteers, many of the approximately 8,000 animals LMAS takes in each year would have limited human interaction during their time with us. The shelter environment can be very stressful for an animal. We rely on volunteers to help us change that. Some volunteer tasks do not involve direct contact with the animals, but even these “jobs” ultimately help the animals.
